Vikings

Well i am a late starter to the world of Vikings, I have just completed Season 1, I won't give away any spoilers.

So we have all heard about the Vikings in our History lessons at school (well if you paid any attention that is), This series is based a Viking called Ragnar Lothbrok (played by Travis Fimmel), a Norse Farmer with a dream. That dream is to sail West. The Vikings through the ages were/are renowned for raiding lands and plundering them for valuables. The Vikings have been doing raids, only to the East. A land where they are are comfortable going, but it is starting to become harder to find the riches they desire. The West is an unknown entity, but Ragnor has ambitions to explore the unexplored. The vikings are unaware that any lands actually exist to their West, so do not want to take undue risks of getting lost and dying.

As i have said, i have only watched Season 1, 9 episodes, but i can already see that i am hooked. It is full of action, drama, with sword fights and blood with a very good story-line. It is giving me a great insight into to Nordic life and their beliefs. If you have watched Game Of Thrones and liked it, and if you haven't already, its time to find Vikings. The cast is vast with stars you will know Lagatha (played by Katheryn Winnick), she is Ragnor's wife. Floki (played by Gustaf Skarsgard (yes the other brother of Alexander and Bill)), is one of Ragnor's friends/associates. This is just a couple but you will recognise faces that you have come across in many films or series.
