So this started showing a week ago in America but starts to grace our TV sets this coming week. It is a remake of the 2013 movie of the same name and based on the 1982 French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jacques Lob.
This is set in 2021, 7 years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, nothing out outside would ever survive. Snowpiercer is a train that is owned by Mr. Wilford of the Wilford Company, it is 1001 carriages long and contains the last remnants of humanity. The train never stops (as it would freeze), and continues to circumnavigate the globe. As you would expect, the train is full of rich families who were able to buy tickets prior to the Earth freezing. In the 1001 carriages, you will find different classes of society all separated up, also the train contains carriages that are solely to provide food and liquids for it passengers. Without trying to give too much away, I will say that as the train is about to start moving, a group of non-paying customers, who were unable to purchase a ticket, who face certain death, break down a perimeter fence and charge the train. Some of these are "lucky" enough to overpower the security and board the train. As these people were not accounted for in the overall plan, they are forced to the back of the train, they are inadequately rationed and living conditions are very very cramped. They will be known as "the tail". The cast looks very good with Jennifer Connelly, Sean Bean, Daveed Layton, Mickey Sumner and Shelia Vand being mentioned. It has already been given a second season to follow the 10 episodes of Season 1.
