This is a series that follows Jonah Heidelbaum (played by Logan Lerman) a young Jewish guy living in New York in 1977. He lives with his only living relative, his Safta, Ruth (played by Jeannie Berlin). She had the horrific time of being imprisoned during World War II in a concentration camp in Auschwitz, as many Jewish people did. After the war, she and a lot of survivors from the camps were relocated to America.
So we see Jonah, a clever young man, who is not able to think of college due to not being wealthy enough, doing things he shouldn't be doing, just to put money into the house. He also has a part time job working in a comic book shop with his long time friend Bootyhole Mcguigan (played by Caleb Emery). One night he is woken by noises downstairs. As he stands on the stairs he witnesses something that changes his life forever. This is where he get introduced to a group of people who are hunting Nazi's that have also made it to the shores of America. The group is lead by Ruth's long time love (from back at Auschwitz, Meyer Offerman (played by Al Pacino), a very wealthy man. We find that this group have uncovered a plot by the Nazi's to form The Forth Reich. This group is lead by The Colonel (played by Lena Olin). They are well aware of the "Hunters" and are also chasing them too. We see glimpses back into the past, with events that happened at the camp.
I thought that this was a good boxset to get into. The story-line, mixed with twist, turns and make you think moments, captivate you to want more. I do hope that there is a second season to this.
