Arrowverse

Yes! its a real thing! This is a DC TV universe and the franchise started with? Yes you guessed it Arrow. Arrow started in 2012 with the first season shown on the American Network CW. A series that is based on DC's character The Green Arrow AKA Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell). Oliver Queen is a spoilt Billionaire playboy who life gets turned upside down on on tragic boat trip with his dad. Arrow ran for 8 Seasons, but has now come to an end. As these seasons played, other characters started to appear and then ended up getting a series to expand the Arrowverse. So next to enter the fray is The Flash AKA Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) in 2014. Barry Allen is a guy that was struck by lightening that gives his super speed, "the fastest man alive". This has now had 6 Seasons, with Season 7 already ordered also this was produced by the CW network. In 2015, an animated web series called Vixen was added to the ever growing universe, this was aired on CW's platform called Seed. This series follows Vixen AKA Mari McCabe (Voiced by Megalyn Echikunwoke). Vixen's power/ability is to be able to mimic the ability of any Earth living creature. This had a 2 Season run. We then had ,in 2016 the birth of the Legends, the full title being The Legends Of Tomorrow. This uses characters that had abilities and had previously appeared in Arrow and The Flash to form a time travelling group of "Legends". This has been running again on the CW network since 2016. With Season 5 coming to an end in the coming months, Season 6 has been ordered already. So next is the one that didn't start on CW! Supergirl was developed on CBS in 2016 with Supergirl AKA Kara Danvers AKA Kara Zor-El (played by Melissa Benoist). Supergirl is Superman's cousin, sent to protect him and look after him. In flight from the ailing planet Krypton, her ship is knocked off course and arrives, well after Superman was an established name in Metropolis. After a Season 1 success, CW bought the rights to Supergirl too. Supergirl is just finishing Season 5 on the TV with 6, already ordered and being planned. Next in the ever growing Universe would come a second animated web series. This one being Freedom Fighters: The Ray. Reporter Reymond Terrill AKA The Ray (voiced by Russell Tovey) was investigating a weapon that uses light, the weapon is turned on him and instead of death, he gains light based super powers. This ran for 2 Season of 6 episodes each. Next to hit the family is Batwoman! Also produced by CW, Batwoman AKA Kate Kane (played by Ruby Rose) is Batman's cousin, she comes to Gotham and finds that Bruce has disappeared and Batwoman is born. This is running now with Season 1, season 2 is already in the process of being written.

These shows once a year come together to produce a crossover event. The more shows they add, the bigger the crossover. John Constantine (played by Matt Ryan) does appear and carry on certain story-lines from the lone series of Constantine, but its not part of the Arrowverse (always a good thing to watch and get background information). Constantine is someone who meddles in the Dark Arts and can cast spells. Also with last years cross over event Black Lightning AKA Jefferson Pierce (played by Cress Williams) has now joined the Arrowverse. Its was kept separate up until this point but now he is firmly in there. Has 3 seasons firmly under its belt with season 4 now ordered. Jefferson Pierce is a school principal that has electrical powers.

So whats next? Do we still call it the ARROWverse with Arrow finishing? Well i have told you about the series that have been renewed for a new season, well also there are 2 others that i know of now that are being worked upon to add to this. Superman & Lois, this has been ordered and might get an airing later this year of next. The other one that is being developed and is basically Arrow's replacement. The potential name at the moment is Green Arrow And The Canaries.
